Do tragicznego w skutkach zdarzenia drogowego doszło we wtorek 14 kwietnia 2020 roku na trasie Baszków-Konarzew (gmina Zduny). Samochód osobowy, którym przemieszczały się dwie osoby uderzył w drzewo.
W wyniku tego zdarzenia jedna osoba poniosła śmierć na miejscu, a druga osoba w ciężkim stanie została przewieziona do Szpitalnego Oddziału Ratunkowego.
Zgłoszenie o zdarzeniu do Stanowiska Kierowania Komendanta Powiatowego PSP w Krotoszynie wpłynęło o godzinie 19:55. Dyżurny Stanowiska Kierowania do zdarzenia zadysponował dwa zastępy z Jednostki Ratowniczo-Gaśniczej w Krotoszynie, dwa zastępy z jednostki OSP Baszków i jeden zastęp z jednostki OSP Zduny.
Świadkowie zdarzenia przed przybyciem służb ratowniczych wyciągnęli osoby poszkodowane z rozbitego pojazdu i przystąpili do udzielania pierwszej pomocy. Po przybyciu na miejsce zastępów straży pożarnej, teren działań został zabezpieczony i oświetlony. Strażacy przystąpili do udzielania kwalifikowanej pierwszej pomocy ofiarom wypadku. Na miejsce zdarzenia dojechały dwa Zespoły Ratownictwa Medycznego i osoby poszkodowane trafiły pod opiekę personelu medycznego. Niestety w wyniku odniesionych obrażeń pasażerka pojazdu poniosła śmierć na miejscu, natomiast mężczyzna w ciężkim stanie został przetransportowany do SOR w Krotoszynie. W czasie prowadzonych działań strażacy przeszukali pobliski teren i nie znaleźli innych osób mogących brać udział w zdarzeniu. Droga w czasie prowadzonych działań była zablokowana, policja kierowała objazdem. Do zakończenia czynności dochodzeniowych realizowanych przez policję i prokuraturę strażacy zabezpieczali i oświetlali teren działań. Po zabraniu rozbitego pojazdu przez pomoc drogową, strażacy usunęli z jezdni pozostałości po zdarzeniu przywracając ruch drogowy w obu kierunkach. Na tym działania trwające 3 godziny i 28 minut zakończono. Zastępy powróciły do miejsca stacjonowania.
